Vision

We dream of the day when no woman must give birth to her child in inhuman conditions, when no woman suffers childbirth injuries,

• because girls are not forced into marriage as children.
• because poverty and malnutrition have been successfully eliminated.
• because every woman has access to competent obstetric care.
• because female circumcision is regarded as a scandal and belongs to the past.

We dream of the day when all women and girls who suffer physically from childbirth injuries and are therefore divorced, abandoned, and treated with contempt can find medical, social and emotional help.

We dream of the day when there is no more sexual exploitation, no trade with women and no more forced prostitution, because

• parents don’t have to sell their daughters due to poverty and debts.
• equal rights are respected and women take part in social relationships with self-confidence.
• sexuality is not misused as an act of humiliation and a demonstration of power.

Goals

Our goal is to offer medical help to women with childbirth injuries, to support them in their rehabilitation process and to reintegrate them into society with a new feeling of self-confidence and self-respect.Our goal is to reduce the number of childbirth injuries, aiming at the complete disappearance of vesico- and recto-vaginal fistulas.Our goal is to offer physical, social and emotional help to victims of sexual abuse, exploitation and trade.

Concept

women's hope international (whi) is an association run by volunteers, whose members work on an honorary basis and are committed to Christian values. whi is an unbureaucratic and visionary organisation, whose aim is to help weak, disadvantaged and discriminated women. whi supports local partners’ projects as well as carries out projects on its own. 

Partners

women’s hope international wants to work together with women’s groups, local organizations for developmental aid, churches and other groups that are concerned with women’s health and violence against women.
All of our benefactors, who make the help possible, are important partners of women's hope international.

Funding

women’s hope international depends on contributions from private persons, churches, public and private institutions as well as businesses. whi lays great store both in responsible handling of the funds as well as open and transparent information vis-à-vis the benefactors and the general public.

Organisation

women’s hope international is an association founded in 2003 and based in Switzerland. The Board is responsible for strategic management and, together with a few professionals and volunteers, also handles the operative implementation. Direct involvement in our projects, a high degree of professionalism, a short decision-making process, focused division of tasks and well integrated staff provide efficient internal and external cooperation.
