Combating violence against women through conferences and discussion groups

Our local partner organisation, APEFEO, as one of its many spheres of activity,  seeks to counter violence against women. In 2011 whi is supporting APEFEO for the first time, enabling them to stage more conferences and to run more discussion groups. The major issues are child and arranged marriage, female genital mutilation (the ‘circumcision’ of girls) and violence – predominantly sexual  violence – against women, which are all daily realities in Burkina Faso.
