Surgery Sponsorship
Donations for surgery sponsorships are used to provide surgery for women and girls with childbirth injuries. These funds are used specifically for surgical treatment of the women concerned and not for any other projects.
Depending on the extent of the injuries, a woman can be healed with a simple surgical procedure. More complex conditions require further, more extensive surgery. There are also cases where healing is incomplete despite several operations. However, the women’s quality of life is still significantly improved.
The actual costs of surgery can therefore vary according to these differences. In addition, the expense of the surgery varies, depending on the country and the establishment where the surgery is performed. A surgery sponsorship for CHF 365 (1 Swiss franc per day for one year) or for CHF 730 with rehabilitation (2 Swiss francs per day for one year) does not mean that the sponsored person can always be fully healed. whi does guarantee that the funds are employed exclusively for the funding of such surgery.
whi surgery sponsorships are therefore not individual sponsorships, but rather project sponsorships geared toward helping as many girls and women as possible who have childbirth injuries. For this reason, whi does not maintain any personal contact with the women who have had these operations in order to keep administrative expenses at a minimum.
We do provide information in our annual reports about surgery sponsorships and the number of surgeries which have been made possible. Several personal accounts, which are representative for the many girls and women who have been treated thanks to donations, can be found on our website under the link Life stories.
You can sponsor a surgery simply by filling in the contact form and sending it to us. Thank you!
