The team of Women's Hope in Bern gets reinforcement. We are pleased to introduce two new team members who have been working alongside us since September 1 for the health and rights of girls and women in our partner countries.

New programne officer

The newly created position for the programmes in Ethiopia and Afghanistan is filled by Maria Bongard. This will strengthen the programme area of international cooperation in the organisation. Maria brings with her extensive sector knowledge: She has worked in Liberia, among other places, at the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and most recently at Helvetas.

New management

Noemi Grossen has been the new Executive Director of Women's Hope since 1 September. She has more than ten years of experience in international cooperation, has led numerous multidisciplinary projects and teams and, as a former programme manager for the Horn of Africa at Caritas, knows the conditions in Ethiopia very well from her own experience.

Noemi replaces Valentina Maggiulli, who is leaving the organisation to pursue a new professional challenge. Valentina was instrumental in establishing the alliance "Gender Equality and Health" with IAMANEH Switzerland and Médecins du Monde. She safely led and advanced the team and the organisation during the pandemic and last year's Afghan crisis. We thank her for her great commitment.

We are looking forward to working with the new staff members!
