During the COVID-19 crisis, Women's Hope financially supports St. Luke Hospital in Wolisso and therefore enables the purchase of important protective material for the nursing staff as well as medication. Further information on how we support in our project regions can be found here.

Overview

Ethiopia's health system has modest resources. With the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, the system will be overstretched quickly and only partially able to meet the need for additional personnel, materials and specialised care for the sick (e.g. oxygen supply). The most important measure in the fight against the spread of the coronavirus is therefore prevention. Together with our partner St. Luke Catholic Hospital in Wolisso we support life-saving preparatory measures and contribute to the protection against infection in the Oromia region.

Goal
Doctors, nursing staff and patients of St. Luke Catholic Hospital effectively protect themselves against infection with the corona virus.

Objectives

In cooperation with the regional health office, the capacity of health personnel in the treatment of suspected cases of coronavirus is being strengthened

St. Luke Hospital remains fully functional during the treatment of COVID-19 patients

The safety measures for patients and staff of St. Luke Hospital can be effectively implemented, thanks to sufficient protective material
