Project: Midwifery Education (Hamlin)
Women’s Hope International is collaborating with Hamlin Fistula Ethiopia in midwifery edcuation since 2008. The Hamlin College of Midwives is located outside of Addis Ababa.
Purpose of the Project
The beneficiaries of the project are midwifery students. They are recruited in five regions of the country. The newly graduated midwives will return to their home regions and work there in a government health centre in the rural area.
Goal
The Hamlin College of Midwifes makes a significant contribution for mothers to have better access to professional maternal health services and to prevent childbirth complications.
Objectives
Each year 23 midwifery students are graduating after the 4-years course with a Bachelor degree.
They have acquired all the needed knowledge and skills to be a successful midwife
During their course the students normally achieve 100 assisted deliveries.
